Jess Ambiee, LCSW-S
I take a person-centered approach and integrate practical tools from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, internal family systems, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and solution-focused therapy to help you navigate challenges and build a more resilient and balanced life. I have found mindfulness to be of benefit in my own life and I also serve as a Zen (meditation) Mentor at a local non-profit zen center.
In 2025, I have been invited and provided presentations around our local community, including: The Reserve at Lake Austin, Kicking the Bucket Podcast, Greater Austin Social Workers, University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work, and the Memory Matters Program.
I am also a member of the Grief Therapists of Texas Collective. This collective is comprised of members who have been recognized and have proven over time their experience, training, and dedication to the field of grief and loss.
I have two masters degrees (Master of Arts in Applied Cultural Anthropology and a Masters of Science in Social Work) and have also served as an advanced certified hospice and palliative social worker, a counselor in local counseling centers, and worked in an outpatient neurology clinic.
I have served as a social work instructor to graduate social work students. I have also attained the Licensed Clinical Social Worker—Supervisor (LCSW-S) designation from the State of Texas. This is a qualification for experienced professionals, allowing me to train and mentor other therapists. My training and education as a clinical supervisor means that the same high-level clinical oversight I can use to mentor new therapists will inform every session we have, ensuring you receive grounded, effective, and professional care.
